Seoul (Korea). Fans at the XXV 18U Baseball World Championship saw exciting games on the second day of first-round play on Saturday. In the morning Canada celebrated a second straight walk-off win at Mokdong, coming back against a strong Italian team, scoring the winning run in the ninth. Nearly at the same time Australia erased a three-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth, before falling down to Venezuela in the tenth.

Seoul (Korea). Venezuela captured its first win at the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship in Seoul, Korea. On Saturday morning at Jamsil Stadium they blew a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth, but managed to prevail 6-3 against Australia in ten innings. Both teams are now 1-1 in Group B in first-round play.
18U BWC: Australia cruises to win in Jamsil Opener
Seoul (Korea). After the rained out first day of the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship in Seoul, Korea, the games started finally on Friday. In the opener at Jamsil Stadium in the morning, Australia downed Colombia 7-4 to start into the tournament successfully. A good pitching performance by Boston Red Sox prospect Daniel McGrath and timely hits helped the Aussies to the victory. Colombia’s offense didn’t wake up until the end, but it was too late.
